The Corset is a historical garment that is greatly misunderstood. Originally invented and used for back and breast support it was very comfortable to wear during hard work around the house, on the field and in factorys. It was worn by all genders as well as children and had nothing to do with looks at the beginning. The corsets were often custom made and therefore really practical and comfortable - not at all too tight. Today we see corsets as something invented by patriarchy to press the female body into a certain form, even though it was actually invented by a woman to support the body during the day.
